SARAH JANE FREEMAN is the founder of her New York–based, full-service interior design firm. Her work reflects a layered point of view shaped by both place and experience. A New Orleans native, she developed an early appreciation for the city’s rich architectural heritage and layered history. During her formative years, she also lived in Charlottesville and Washington, D.C., where exposure to East Coast classical architecture further refined her eye and sensibility. While her design foundation is rooted in East Coast tradition, her work is equally informed by a West Coast sense of ease.
Sarah Jane honed her craft working for AD100 legends, including Bunny Williams, Gachot Studios, and Robert Stilin, and later worked on projects across the globe at No. 12 Interiors. There, she focused on renovating and updating high-end boutique adventure lodges and private residences in destinations such as British Columbia, Colorado, Shelter Island, Florida, and the Bahamas.
Her work is a study in balance: masculine and feminine, vintage and antique, high and low. The result is spaces with soul - timeless in spirit, yet unmistakably individual. From concept to completion, Sarah Jane Freeman offers a collaborative and highly personalized approach, creating interiors that tell her clients’ stories in a way that is both enduring and distinct.
